The Best:
Fashion Collaborations
of 2023

From luxury street style to bedazzled shapewear, 2023 provided the masses with its fair share of innovative brand partnerships.

With everyone from Skims to Moncler joining in on the fun, there was no shortage of excitement for 2023’s new drops, all of which integrated some of culture’s most influential trends, figures, and labels.

Keep reading to find out which matches were on our radar this year, and should be on yours, too

(if you can still get your hands on them, that is!).

1. Wales Bonner x Adidas

If you’ve taken a scroll through Instagram recently, chances are you’ve witnessed this recent shoewear collab.

Just over three years ago, fashion designer Grace Wales Bonner began teaming up with Adidas and, over time, created eight colorways reimagining the classic Samba sneaker.

2023, however, became the year of the Samba for Wales Bonner and Adidas, who together once again, revolutionized the shoe with four more styles that play with unexpected materials like leather, suede, and pony hair. Worn by everyone from Rihanna to Usher, this collab is an approved standout of the year.

2. Beyoncé x Balmain

Look no further for a partnership to make you feel like ‘that girl.’

Inspired by Beyoncé’s seventh studio album Renaissance, Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing and his team channeled the ethereal energy of the record into a modern couture collection, with creative help from Beyoncé’s close friend and stylist, Marni Senofonte. The line features a variety of timeless pieces including crystal gowns, sculpted metal bustier tops, and cape coats created and named after each of Renaissance’s 16 songs.

3. Aminé x New Balance Mooz 610

Newly-minted New Balance ambassador Aminé partnered with the brand to create “The Mooz,” the rapper’s debut pair of kicks that center his record label and show off his experimentation in street style.

First marketed through a visual teaser in May that drew the attention of fans and sneakerheads, “The Mooz” is designed with hues of brown and yellow, a nod to Aminé’s label, Club Banana. The release of this collab, plus new music with DJ Kaytranada, made the summer of 2023 one for the books for Aminé.

4. Kim Kardashian & Chrome Hearts

This year, Chrome Hearts found its rhythm by creating dazzling red carpet looks for Kim Kardashian.

The first ensemble of 2023 appeared at GQ’s Men of the Year event, which recognized Kardashian for her strides in fashion and entrepreneurship. On the carpet, Kim Kardashian flaunted a custom Chrome Hearts suede honey-brown two-piece set, adorned with the brand’s signature gothic cross emblem.

Later on in the year, during November’s CFDA Fashion Awards, Chrome Hearts designed another two-piece set for Kim K; this one, however, was entirely black and leather, giving Karshasian’s backless look the perfect mix of elegance and a touch of early-90s nostalgia.

5. Swarovski x Skims

What do you get when you combine crystals, body jewelry, and shapewear? A luxurious, ready-to-wear line by Swarovski x Skims.

Launched in early November after being in the works for a year and a half, the collab marked Swarovski’s first time partnering with a clothing brand to create pieces available in-store. With Skims, Kim Kardashian always finds a way to keep us on our toes, so the hype was only extended in 2023 with the drop of wearable jewelry, bedazzled mini skirts, and glimmering slip dresses.

6. Louis Vuitton x Yayoi Kusama

A collection for art lovers and luxury aficionados alike, 2023 introduced the second collaboration between Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama and Louis Vuitton.

The French fashion house placed a spin on the Neverfull, OnTheGo, and other beloved styles, including a limited-edition perfume, by decking them out with Kusama’s signature vibrant, painted dots and abnormally-shaped flowers.

7. Moncler x Pharrell Williams

Fourteen years and a line of jackets later, Moncler and Pharrell Williams dusted off their 2009 partnership and teamed up once again in 2023 to create their second apparel line, this time a collection of sophisticated outerwear.

As the current creative director of Louis Vuitton, Williams combined innovation and functionality with Moncler’s classic silhouettes, incorporating details of faux fur and quilted patterns. So, come on, everyone, we’re going glamping!

8. Nike x Tiffany & Co. Air Force 1 1837

The Nike Air Force, arguably fashion’s most versatile sneaker, experienced a posh makeover in 2023– so don’t even think about creasing these Forces.

Released in early March, Nike x Tiffany & Co. modeled their collab around the Air Force 1 1837. The duo's black and understated design highlights the beloved Tiffany Blue on the swoosh. Details of silver hardware also appear on the heel tab. These kicks sold out almost immediately, so good luck while searching for a pair of your own!

9. Birkenstock x Tekla

Designed for everyday relaxation, German shoe manufacturer Birkenstock and Copenhagen-born homeware brand Tekla paired up to release a loungewear line, consisting of styles ranging from unisex poplin sleepwear to suede sandals that cover Birkenstock’s traditional cork soles.

10. Miu Miu x New Balance

Miu Miu x New Balance first appeared in the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2022 runway collection.

In 2023, the two brands teamed up to create three more colorways with the classic 574 New Balance style. The sneakers present an intentional rundown, deconstructed look, evoking Miu Miu’s youthful energy and New Balance’s dad-sneaker nostalgia.
